"Okay, there's this thing you can do, a thing you can do like no other person on this planet. That makes you special, but being special really doesn't mean anything. You still have to get dressed in the morning. Your shoelaces still break. Your lover will still leave you if you don't treat her right."
I loved this book, during his wedding reception Hypno, the ex boyfriend of Toms wife, turns up and makes The Perfectionist believe that Tom is invisible. This story is told during the duration of the flight were Tom is sat trying to find anyway to make her see him, which isn't as easy as you would think. It doesn't matter what people tell her or if he tries to physically touch her, The Perfectionist believes Tom left her on their wedding night.
The narration weaves seamlessly from Tom sat on the flight to both of their pasts, Toms first encounter with a superhero, his relationships, The Perfectionist's relationships, how they met and started dating, and most importantly their first few days, weeks and months spent as newlyweds.
It's quite a feat to produce such a small book but have it filled with so much relative content, it's filled to the rim. There was nothing unnecessary included, this book easily could have introduced far too many heroes for no reason. The content was spot on, the. The edition I own is a collectable edition and includes a chapter filled with extra superheroes separate from the story. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because I wished it was a longer story!
